Steven Yessick has been making art his whole life. This theory book is great. It’s unlike any other book. It’s just basically a list of relevant ideas that apply to architecture and painting. You can find new ideas if you expand upon these. I wrote it over a course of nine years, so the list grows as I had come back to it. It’s an interesting look into the thoughts of an artist, and what artists think about. It is basically a ton of ideas all laid out in a easy to undersatand format. Check it out on Kindle!

Writings on Art and Architecture (1999-2016).. I kept a running list of ideas for years, and I added to it over a long period of time. New ideas were added to the list as they were discovered.

There is an introduction with poignant ideas on art as a whole. Next, is the list of ideas and theories expounded upon over time. Then, in the final chapter, there is a list of composition ideas for creativity for all types of artists. Overall, a highly relevant art theory book for abstract artists, contemporary architects, and anyone interested in furthering their own artistic sensibilities.

Art Theory: On Painting, Architecture, and Other Visual Media: Including Creative Inspiration for Artists – paperback

Writings on Art and Architecture (1999-2016). This paperback version is meant to be a workbook of sorts. There is plenty of room to add content, draw ideas, and expand upon these thoughts. So, if you get a hard copy, it is meant to be studied, with things written in it. I intend to get a copy myself, and add more to it, too. Then I will issue an updated version years from now.

Anyways, it is chocked full of ideas and good information. I think you will find the creative inspiration for artists section quite intruiging. So, get a hard copy and write your own ideas all over it. Expand, create, manifest… Thanks.

This book is meant to be marked upon. The more this art theory book grows, the more you learn. Having a paperback can be greatly advantageous to anyone pursuing art or architecture because it puts you light years ahead of your peers. It is a wonderful look into the mind’s eye of an artist, and really only artistic people should get it. They will understand it perfectly.

If you want some good art theory, and a ton of ideas all in one place, then this is the bok you want. You can even click on the link and read the first part of it. The first part has some really pertinent dialouge about how people percieve art, so you really should check it out. I think artists can take a lot from this type of book, which is presented in a list, so that they can gain more insight into their own work. These are definitely relevant to art and apply to a lot of other art forms, as well.

There’s almost an infinite amount of things to know about art and music, so you can start by checking out this book. It is a wonderful mix of culture, media, creativity, and love. Art with a higher purpose is the aim, so you can get a sneak peek and maybe get it to include in your art theory book collection.

I think every artist should have this art theory book, or one of them in their collection. It is truly a work of great depth, and applies many principles and methods to art as a whole. It is a fantastic read. Also, at the back, these ideas are perfect for anyone interested in contemporary design and culture. The book also dicusses architectural topics, like movement patterns, juxtapositions, spatial layouts, and other things.

Get a copy and see for yourself, and you really can’t go wrong. It’s really like no other art book out there. I highly recommend getting the paperback and going from there.Plus the cover looks good, is unusual, and looks good on a coffee table. A great addition to any library this art theory book is one of the frontrunners of it’s time. It’s maybe, like, sort of ahead of it’s time in some ways.

Art as Experience

This book is a synthesis of many years of accumulated knowledgge by the great Art instructor and educator, John Dewey. It is still as pertinent today as it was when it was written. A great Choice.

Sometimes it is good to look at an artist’s complete works. You can do that with this book.

Steven Yessick Original Oil Paintings 2000-2009: A Journey into the Abstract and Unknown

The best oil and acrylic paintings by Steven Yessick, a.k.a. @yessickart. Ranging in complexity from the simple abstract to the complicated interplay of form. An intermingling of the luxurious and the decadent. Abstract and surreal art from the 21st century and beyond, in a magnificent visual display, with commentary by the author and artist.

The reason why is it good to look at complete works, is that you get to see how an artist evolves, and see the different things that they produce along the way. This has many great pieces in it. Check it out, a contemporary painter. Coolm book!

Ways of Seeing: Based on the BBC Television Series

This a truly outstanding read, based on a TV series about how different people percieve things differently. What an outstanding compilation of knowledge about perception, and how visual art can affect it, to some degree. ANyways, a great book to have if you are an artist.

Art and Illusion: A Study in the Psychology of Pictorial Representation (Bollingen)
Considered a great classic by all who seek for a meeting ground between science and the humanities, Art and Illusion examines the history and psychology of pictorial representation in light of present-day theories of visual perception information and learning. Searching for a rational explanation of the changing styles of art, Gombrich reexamines many ideas on the imitation of nature and the function of tradition.
